Textured, Curly and Coily Hair Cuts in Las Vegas

Las Vegas pulls people in from everywhere, and the hair that comes through the door shows it. Our barbers cut every hair texture — coily, curly, wavy, straight, fine, and thick. Tight type 4 coils, loose waves, and poker-straight hair that shows every clipper line all get cut on their own terms.

That is a technique question, not a menu question. Whatever your texture, you book the Signature Cut — fade, taper, or scissor cut with a razor line-up. What changes is how your barber works once you are in the chair.

Curly and coily hair does not stay where you leave it. Cut it flat to the head while it is stretched out and it springs back uneven — one side shorter than the other, the shape gone inside a week.

On coily and curly hair we cut to the curl pattern, not flat to the head, so the shape holds as it grows out. Your barber checks the shape from every angle as the hair lifts and accounts for shrinkage before the first pass, not after it.

Expect a question about how you wear it — brushed, picked out, sponged, or left alone. The answer decides where the length stays.

A fade on coarse, tightly curled hair is a different job from a fade on fine straight hair. The hair takes the guard differently, so the gradient is built over more passes with less taken on each one.

The line-up matters most. Fades and line-ups sit differently on textured hair; the barber sets the line to your hairline rather than a straight edge. Pushing a temple line back to square it off is how hairlines get lost. A shape up follows the hair you already have.

Hair designs go in last, with a trimmer, once the fade and the line are settled.

Braid design and styling is on the service list. It is booked by request — call the shop first so we can set aside enough time, because a braid pattern needs longer than a standard chair slot.

Come with your hair washed and detangled if you can. The parts come out cleaner and you spend less time in the chair.

Straight hair is unforgiving. Every line a clipper leaves stays visible, and a blend that would disappear into a curl sits on the surface like a shelf. We cut fine and straight hair with scissors where clippers would leave a hard line, then point-cut the ends so the weight breaks up instead of stopping in a blunt row.

Thick straight hair usually needs weight taken out through the interior rather than length off the top, or it grows out sitting wide. Longer styles get a dry finish, so you see how the hair falls before you leave.

Capillary hair treatment conditions dry or coarse hair and is booked as part of a cut. It earns its place when your hair drinks product and still feels rough, or when heat and hard water have taken the softness out.

Tell us your hair type when you book so we set the right amount of time. Most textured cuts run about 45 minutes; a long scissor cut or a braid pattern needs more. A short note — 4c hair, want a mid fade, or thick straight hair, scissor cut only — means your barber knows the job before you sit down.
